Here’s to 2025!

Happy New Year Everyone!

And Martin Luther King’s Birthday and Valentine’s Day and the upcoming President’s Day!

It’s been a hot minute, so apologies for not keeping you all updated on our progress. Amy and I are still plugging away at the book and its illustrations with some serious focus and detail; it’s set our timeline back a little, but we’ll get there. :)

In the mean time, check out the elven brothers, Caliso and Laciso. They seem happy, but were they always….?

Best,

-Daniel

Regrets

It’s Halloween Eve Everyone!

There's no tricks today, just a treat into what I’ve been working on with Amy Dunn!

Here we take a peek into a thieves’ den, a family of orphaned gob-lings led by a gob-teen.

Kay-Tom was here many moons ago and he still regrets a decision made in the hideout. What do you think it was?

Do you have any regrets?

Frenemies

Exciting News Everyone!

The book illustrations are moving right along, and I’m thrilled with how they’re turning out.

See that rogue fox above? That’s Thorne, he’s Kay-Tom’s frenemy. Their relationship is one of the most complex—and fun—connections I’ve written. Their history and rivalry creates some great dynamic and tension.

Huge thanks to the amazing Amy Dunn for bringing these characters to life with her stunning illustrations.

Can’t wait to share more soon! Stay tuned! #BookUpdate #Frenemies #AllLand #AmyDunnArt

The Squirrel Maiden

Hey, Hey Everyone!

The book is really coming together! It’s exciting for Amy and I to see the world and characters being brought to life!

You might recall that this middle grade short story collection focuses on various side-quests our main characters, Princess Evarose and Kay-Tom, undertake during their larger journey to save All Land.

As expected, they meet an array of characters, just like this worried Squirrel Maiden. But what appears to be the problem?

As usual, Evarose is eager to assist, while Kay-Tom wants to keep to their directive. What do our heroes learn as they help this fretful and furry figure?

Stay tuned for more sneak peeks!

Just Around the Corner

Hey Everyone!

Princess Evarose and Kay-Tom start off on their journey, not knowing their first quest is just around the corner. There’s a break in their forest travels, a clearing, and Kay-Tom thinks rest would be good, but their rest is momentary; what befalls them?

I’m so excited about the progress that Amy and I have achieved in bringing this story to life and can’t wait to share more.

I’ll continue with updates here and there leading up to our potential holiday release date.

Best,

-Daniel

Chapter Icon

Hey Everyone!

Apologies for not keeping up with what’s been happening since the last post.

A LOT has been happening. LoL.

Among additional story edits, maps (big and small!), acknowledgments, etc., my illustrator and I, Amy Dunn, have also been working on Chapter Icons; you know, an insignia at the beginning that captures a little bit of the chapter itself. This one is for the first chapter.

What do you think?

Best,

-Daniel

Evarose

Hello, Hello Everyone!

Here is Princess Evarose, Keeper of the Flowers of All Land. She is a soon-to-be 11-year-old who is outgoing, a little boisterous, unpredictable, and a strong emotional reader. In All Land, at her annual celebration in her Castle of Flowers (a castle made entirely of flowers), a stranger appears accompanied by a red and black storm who promises her downfall. With a snap of the stranger’s fingers an earthquake strikes and Evarose is knocked unconscious by falling debris. Upon waking after 1,000 years, she learns of the troubles of All Land and vows to set things right.

Illustration credit to the awesome Amy Dunn.
